Born in August 8th 1992, James Aram Elliott is a Birthright Armenia volunteer who joined HDIF in December 2015. James grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania and came to Armenia after earning his bachelor’s degree at Wheaton College (MA), majoring in both Psychology and Contemplative Studies. While he plans to continue his higher education in the States, he hopes to learn more about the art of photography, as he works with us in that capacity. James believes that photography can be used as a powerful tool in bringing about positive change in our world. He feels extremely grateful to have the opportunity to help others while doing something he loves. Even though his involvement at HDIF requires him to travel to remote villages overnight, he is thankful he has the chance to see and learn more about his ancestral homeland. James is very curious about how HDIF, and similar entities, pursue their mission of initiating, facilitating, and nurturing sustainable development. He believes there is a great deal to learn from these types of organizations and the greater vision of educating and empowering others.
