TF 3Taraz Fest 2014: June 28th - To promote local culture and activate community participation while celebrating the riches of Armenian national Costume - Taraz 

Location: Arpeni Village – Shirak Marz 

Distance: Approx. 144km from Yerevan 

Population: Approx. 397

Brief History: Formerly known as Palutlu, Old Arpeni was destroyed during 1988 earthquake and a new village constructed next to old site. The remains of a 19th century church is in the old site 

Participants: 9 local communities 

Exhibitors: Talin Dolls - hand crafted dolls dressed in regional outfits of greater Armenia.

Vardenis Sawing - Taraz themed fabric oven gloves, pot holders aprons.

Sisian Ceramics - Taraz themed ceramic products. 

9 local communities - prepared and sold homemade traditional foods

Entertainment: DJ Shant, Sassoun Dance Ensemble, singers, musicians and dancers from local schools and house of culture. 

Attendance: Approx 1,500 guests from all over the country 

Local partners: Women for Development, Shirak Competitive Centre and local municipality 

Investments: - EDMC - $4,000, JMF - $9,000, VivCell MTS – SMS advertisement TF 1

Taraz Fest 2015: July 11th - To continue footsteps from previous year in new location 

Location: Sarnaghbyur - Shirak Marz  

Distance: Approx. 100km from Yerevan  

Population: Approx. 3,500 

Brief History: 102 registered cultural assets including a cave church with sacred spring dedicated to St. Gregory the Illuminator 

Participation: Focus on participation from surrounding local villages 

Attendance: Aim to reach 3,000 visitors  

Partners: Community Youth Initiative Club and local municipality
